Building Focus, Energy & Courage - to Make a Better Life for You

Investing in Your Future

What's a happy life really worth to you? Since you're on this page, it seems you already have an idea ... Here's some food for thought:

A woman was strolling along a street in Paris when she spotted Picasso sketching at a sidewalk café.

Not so thrilled that she could not be slightly presumptuous, the woman asked Picasso if he might sketch her, and charge accordingly.

Picasso obliged.

In just minutes, there she was: an original Picasso.

"And what do I owe you?" she asked.
"Five thousand francs," he answered.
"But it only took 3 minutes," she politely reminded him.
"No," Picasso said. "It took me all my life."

I have invested heavily in my education and experience to get me to the point I am today. I have an honours degree. I spent 17 years in people management; that's a lot of people! Five years in consulting. For most of my adult life I've studied and pursued personal improvement. That's a LOT of books, seminars, videos and workshops. I hold distinctions in both practical and theoretical coaching form the Coaching Academy, and I am a member of it's exclusive 7-member national executive committee. I have spent five years as a professional life coach, helping many clients.

I am offering you the benefits of all that - in the service of bringing you to a better, happier life. That's what you are paying for.

Coaching is relatively new in the UK, and a few people show huge reluctance to pay the asking prices for what they see as "45 minutes of chat". If this is your view, then this page is for you!

There are a number of ways of looking at this, but I think the central one is this. You only have one life, and if you're not getting what you want from it, and you haven't been for a while, then isn't it worth serious investment to sort it out?

If you were on your deathbed, what would you pay to find a cure? Probably everything you own, right? So you'd sell your house, your car, your holiday home - everything - to avoid the ending of your own life. £100,000? £1,000,000?

OK then - so what about if you've been desperately unhappy - in your job, or in your relationship? What would it be worth to you to sort that out? £10,000?

So - what about if you're just not getting what you want from life and can't seem to change things yourself - what is it worth to you to fix that? £5,000?

What I'm saying here is that life is a one-time event - this is the real thing and the clock is ticking. And in reality - coaching doesn't cost anywhere near any of those prices.

I think the underlying problem is skepticism. If you felt sure your coaching would help you - you'd pay the asking price. But you may be concerned that it won't work and you'll be out of pocket. That's why I give an unconditional money-back guarantee. If you feel that any session did not give you value for money - you simply ask for it back, and you get it back. Simple.

The other way of looking at this is to compare coaching prices with other services you currently pay for.

What did you pay to get your car through it's MOT last time? I paid £430 which was based on a mechanic's time at £75 per hour.

My friend is in the unhappy situation of going through a divorce. She has just received a letter from her solicitor inviting her to put considerable funds into a pot which her solicitor will then consume at £230 per hour on writing letters, making phone calls, etc.

If your washing machine needs repairing - you're likely to be paying a minimum call out fee of at least £50 and about the same per hour for the diagnosis and repair.

What's a nice new jacket worth to you? £70? £100?

We pay these amounts because we accept that they are the going rate. We have paid them before and will do so again. We are familiar with what's on offer and we know what to expect.

But with coaching, none of this is true and so resistance is natural. Then of course, you might be subconsciously afraid of the success which coaching could bring - and be using the cost as an excuse.

One other point - my coaching costs are lower than many - just search google and you'll find one-session pricing at £70, £80 and even £120 per hour. Do I charge far less because I'm new - or not very good? No! I graduated from the UK's largest and best academy - The Coaching Academy - and I did so in 2001. In fact, I graduated at the highest level - Distinction - in both the practical and theoretical elements. More than that - I sit as one of only seven members of their national executive council - where I advise on coaching in the UK, and I have provided coach training for the academy's coaches. So why do I charge less for private clients? Long ago (but not far away) I dumped a corporate career in international IT management. I re-focused my life away from a financial focus. I'm charging a rate I think the bulk of society can afford, and I'm growing my business "organically" - through the word of mouth of satisfied clients. They're much easier to find when you're not charging top dollar!

But enough about me

Bottom line for you: If you keep doing what you've always done, then you'll keep getting what you've always got. Coaching is something radically new to try in your life. It has an excellent track record. You could be in a wonderfully better life just weeks or months from now. It's relatively low-cost and actually - financially risk-free with my money back guarantee!
