Marketing for Life Coachesby Chris Wesley
Most budding business owners don't realise a central fact about being self-employed. Whatever your "core business" is - be it life coaching or ice cream vending - you really have two entirely different jobs, and the most important one is NOT the one you're interested in. It's MARKETING. You might be the very best life coach on the planet, but if the phone doesn't ring, and you have no clients - you're not really a life coach - you're a failed life coach. OK, you say, well, I'll get some swanky business cards, and hand them out. Knock yourself out - it won't get you going. Well then, posters, maybe handed out to friends, an ad in the local paper, some leafleting? If my life is anything to go by, these are time and money down the drain. OK then - a nice website - everyone's got a website these days - it's the cyber age - that'll do it, won't it? Nope. The best website in the world is entirely useless - unless is gets a lot of visitors - "traffic". I mean several hundred visitors every day. And even then, it's not enough that they visit - they need to give you money! That means they need to see you, like you, believe you can solve their problem, and set aside any angst they have about jumping in. Every one of those steps needs completing before customer one sends you penny one. Any failure along the way, and you're still clientless. And it's not as if life coaching is mainstream in the UK. People don't need selling on the benefits of a haircut or an ice cream - we know what they are, we know what they do, and by and large - we accept them as a Good Thing. Not so with life coaching. TV coaches don't help with their plastic pseudo American personae, and of course, life coaching is un-regulated in the UK - anyone can call themselves a "life coach". What I'm saying is that you have to take marketing extremely seriously when you commit to becoming a professional, money-earning, do-it-for-a-living life coach. Over the years, I've taken all the falls, and eventually, learned what really works out there in the Big Bad World. A long and sometimes lonely journey. I can give you the benefits of that experience. Much of it is in my book (below) but in addition, I offer mentoring/coaching to coaches in the making to get them from qualified to being professional coaches. Why spend all those years learning the hard way, when I can fast-track you to success? I'll give you powerful insights, techniques, and practical help - specific to you and your situation - your aspirations and your "failures". Each session may be purchased one at a time, and of course, all my sessions come with a money-back guarantee, so you simply can't lose. Why not book an initial coaching consultation?
